Convenient functional equipment - a potato planter for a walk-behind tractor with a fertilizer hopper (45 liters) performs planting and hilling of the tuber while simultaneously applying granular mineral fertilizers into the soil in a mechanized way. Ideal for small private and farming households - potato planting is done in a single row with adjustable spacing and planting depth. It has a large metal hopper of 45 liters for loading seed material and a small container for dry fertilizers.
This potato planter is attached to the walk-behind tractor by a rear single-point hitch; the recommended engine power is at least 10 horsepower. The planting mechanism is a belt conveyor with cups, driven from the tiller shaft via a chain drive and equipped with a set of interchangeable sprockets. The required planting spacing is 15-20-25-30 cm, set by moving the drive chain to the sprocket with the required diameter and number of teeth. Planting depth is adjusted by changing the working height of the keel-shaped coulter from 5 to 10 cm.
The working process of the potato planter for a walk-behind tractor with a fertilizer hopper (45 liters) follows the standard principle - tubers are lifted on a cup from the hopper to the guide tube and dropped into the furrow made by the coulter. The disc hillers located at the rear cover the planted potatoes with soil, forming an even soil ridge. Adjustable mounts for the hillers and the presence of bearings in the discs allow setting the required angle, height and distance between the working implements. To achieve maximum productivity - up to 0.1 ha/hour, it is recommended to use pre-sorted potatoes with a diameter of no more than 40 mm.
