Convenient mounted grain seeder for a walk-behind tractor SZ 2BJ-5 can be used with equal efficiency both in private household plots and for cultivating small farming holdings. Designed for sowing cereal and legume crops into pre-prepared soil, it is excellent for working on plots where large heavy machinery has difficulty passing.
This seeder for a walk-behind tractor has a metal reception hopper with windows for feeding seed into the receiving chambers. On a sturdy frame made of profiled steel tubes there are five coulter openers connected by corrugated tubes to the seed metering units mounted under the hopper. The coulters are fixed on two transverse beams by stirrup fastenings with pressure plates, and move freely along the tubes, allowing easy adjustment of the row spacing in the range of 15 - 30 cm.
Two ground-engaging wheels are located under a single-point semi-hitch device by which this mounted grain seeder is attached to a walk-behind tractor with a power of 6 - 8 horsepower. The wheel-ground drive wheels are equipped with a chain drive that drives the rotation of the seed metering drums and have a special screw for more precise adjustment of the sowing depth of the seed crop at 5 - 10 cm.
Sowing of seed by the mounted grain seeder for the walk-behind tractor SZ 2BJ-5 is carried out according to the standard principle - seed from the hopper enters the receiving chambers, falls into the cells of the rotating drums and, via a flexible guiding seed tube, descends to the base of the coulter, laying on the bottom of the furrow. Crop planting is conducted in five rows with a total working width of 120 cm.
