Productive potato planter for a walk-behind tractor (45 liters) is equipped with a sturdy capacious hopper that allows planting the vegetable for a fairly long time without additional stops for refilling. Very well suited for use on private plots and small farming lands. The unit is mounted with an adjustable single-point rear hitch on equipment with power from 10 horsepower.
Selected seed potatoes (diameter 40 mm) are delivered by a chain conveyor through a guide tube to the base of the keel-shaped furrower and laid on the bottom of the cut furrow. Along the conveyor path, the disc topdressers located on the rear cross frame cover the planting material with soil and form a soil ridge. The planting depth available on this potato planter for a walk-behind tractor is 5–10 cm — the required value is achieved by changing the working height of the steel furrower.
The planting mechanism is driven from the traction wheels via a chain drive while the towing equipment is moving. A set of interchangeable sprockets is installed on the traction wheel axle to adjust the planting spacing by moving the drive chain to a sprocket of a specific diameter and number of teeth.
