Durable single-row mounted potato planter for a walk-behind tractor KS-02 performs planting of seed potatoes with tuber diameters from 20 to 50 mm on prepared medium-size plots. It features good productivity - up to 0.1 ha/hour, has all basic adjustments for carrying out a quality planting process. It couples with power tillers of at least 8 horsepower, connecting to the vehicle by a rear single-point hitch.
This walk-behind tractor planter operates via a drive mechanism mounted on the support wheel-soil-engaging wheel - the drive chain is equipped with a set of interchangeable sprockets that determine the tuber planting interval (19-21-28 cm) and a roller tensioner that prevents sagging when the working chain is repositioned on different sprockets.
The soil-engaging wheels are secured on the axle with bolt connections, thanks to which the potato planter can change the row spacing from 52 to 62 cm. The disc furrowers located on the transverse beam of the frame are adjustable in height, tilt angle and distance between them, due to bearings and bolted fastenings.
The planting mechanism with which the single-row potato planter for the walk-behind tractor KS-02 is equipped is installed inside the hopper - a belt conveyor with 12 baskets for tubers is driven by a chain drive. The baskets catch the root crop and, through a guiding element, place the crop into the furrow formed by the coulter, and the disc furrowers located behind, on both sides, cover the tubers with a layer of soil, forming an even earthen ridge.
